A Homeplace Halloween

Saturday, October 22nd
9:00 am -3:00pm Eastern Standard Time

PUMPKINS!
After you part, start your day with a visit to the 4E-Farms Booth and purchase locally grown pumpkins right from the farmer who grew them! Mr. Flanagan will have a variety of affordable pumpkins ranging in sizes perfect for painting or carving. He will also have some other seasonal wares like apples and decorative gourds available for purchase.
CARVE AND PAINT YOUR PUMPKINS!
Once you have selected the perfect pumpkins, take your crew to the carving and painting stations.  Event helpers at the goop station will cut and scoop your pumpkin, keeping all sharp knives out of reach of children! Then take your pumpkins and grab a seat and use kid-safe tools to carve your masterpiece. We will also have a painting station with some extras like feathers and sequins for a great sensory experience, perfect for pumpkin artist who is still a little to young for carving.  Once your pumpkins are perfect, you will place them in the drying area (so you don't have a wet, painted pumpkin in yours car) and head to other activities.

CRAFTS IN THE BARN
In the Bank barn, we will have some Halloween music playing and kids can make a variety of crafts!  They can make little cloth ghosts to decorate your yard or home just in time for the holiday and wrap a prayer for  the world into a gods eye made from yarn and real sticks they find on the trail.

FAIRY HOUSES ON THE TRAIL
Talk a little walk on the trail and get creative! Use natural objects you find like leaves, rocks and a few special items provided like sea shells to make little homes for fairies, frogs, trolls, or whatever your imagination creates!  These little installations will remain on the trail!
CORN MAZE!
Take a meander through the corn maze! Over 2 acres of wandering paths to explore and play.  You can also see how fast you can through the hay maze under the bank barn!
Homeplace on Green River is partnering with the Campbellsville University Education Club and all the proceeds from admission to this event will be divided between them and Homeplace.
Students from the club will be on hand to help out and guide kids through the activities. This event is meant for children ages 1-12. Kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We do not have food vendors for this event.  The total estimated time to complete all activities is around 2 hours. The operational hours are to accommodate different families’ schedules, but we don’t anticipate people actually being there from 9-3. Costumes are encouraged.  We will see you there!
