The original home was built in 1803. There have been several additions to the building over the years. but the original building remains an integral part of the present structure. Thousands of dollars have been spent on restoring the home and the work continues.
The festivals at Homeplace include live music all day in the show barn. Local musicians provide a variety of music.
The bank barn, built in the mid 1860 and the oldest remaining barn at Homeplace has been renovated and serves as the venue for Sharkepeare in the Barn productions which include a variety of stage performancesl
The bank barn has been renovated and in its 2018 inaugural season three theater productions were presented. This year plans call for expanding use of the barn. For current information on events at Homeplace click on the above "Current News" link.
An estimated 2,500 people attended the April 2019 Plow Day/ Spring Festival. Twenty horse and mule plow teams joined 25 antique tractors and more than 70 vendors and exhibitors.
Homeplace is partnering with Kentucky government, colleges and universities and other private organizations to improve soil health. Current work is being done on cover crop use and increasing natural biological health of farm soils.
The Kentucky State Senate sited Homeplace as Kentucky's Outdoor Classroom. A name well earned. Homeplace hosts students from grade school through college for a variety of outdoor activities.
Homeplace on Green River is a shared project of Adair, Green and Taylor counties and is located at 5807 New Columbia Road, Campellsville, KY 42718.  The farm is being restored by volunteers and is administered by a Board of Directors representing all three counties.  Homeplace is dedicated to the protection and promotion of rural American culture through the sustainability of agriculture and natural resources using education, conservation and the economic opportunities of agri-tourism.  Homeplace showcases the local history of Adair, Green and Taylor counties as well as that of all of Kentucky.  It is maintained by volunteers.
